Dating like a Celebrity

Wouldn’t you love to live the life of Leonardo DiCaprio or Cameron Diaz? Imagine being a celebrity and being worshipped and adored by millions of singles around the world! Well, you don’t have fame or that much money, so count out “millions.” However, there’s no reason why you can’t start dating like a movie star and get at least hundreds of people interested in you, locally and online. We call this our “dating like a celebrity” guide. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Looks Mean Something, If Not Everything

When you put yourself on the market, it’s time to pretty yourself up. Girls, doll yourselves up in makeup and a ravishing dress. Coordinate your colors so that your best features stand out. What are you best features? If you’re not sure, ask your friends, families, friendly exes and whoever else is up for a survey. Once you know your greatest assets flaunt and accentuate them in public. This doesn’t necessarily mean you should wear something skimpy; you can accentuate your best physical assets without giving it away for free, by wearing fashionable clothing.

Men should also take pride in their appearance never going anywhere without putting on a decent suit or some slacks with a quality dress shirt. Shower, comb your hair, shave and make sure your colors match. Be careful about wearing anything too “retro”, because you don’t want to earn a reputation as the town nerd. If you’re self conscious about your body then wear clothing designed to hide the imperfections.

When you walk in public, pretend as if a camera is on you. Walk powerfully and in an upright posture, wearing a movie star gaze. If no one seems to be talking to you then start making casual conversation with strangers. You don’t have to hit on everybody that moves, but if you see a particularly breathtaking stranger, stop to say hello. Look around the room and make eye contact with the people you like.

Go to local events and always have something to do on the weekend. The more you socialize the more people will remember you. If you’re not good at starting conversation, then memorize certain topics that you can bring up. If it helps relax you, travel with groups of friends to well occupied bars, restaurants and clubs.

Enhancing Your Image Online

Take the same approach to beauty as you build an online presence. You could create a dating profile or you could even start your own webpage. Take some high quality portrait shots of yourself and upload them to the main page of your profile. Fill in the profile information. Instead of merely giving your “stats” try telling a story, or conveying a new thought. Be unpredictable and tell whoever is reading your profile that you are unique in a crowd of bores and wannabes. Make plenty of friends and get involved in major social networking sites, in addition to your regular dating sites. If you make a name for yourself locally by your online actions, then you could become a bit of a small town celebrity, especially if you do business with various local clients.

Blog on a regular basis so that people will start to follow your daily goings-on. Did you have a great first date? Blog about it. Was the last person you met a disaster? Blog about it…but maybe avoid naming names, unless you want to start a bout of web drama. Build anticipation for your appearances by announcing that you will be attending local events. Throw your own parties occasionally and invite some of your new local friends.

When you do find someone datable, remember that this is just the first of many celebrity dates you will enjoy. If you really want to blow your date’s mind, go to a few of your regular spots (make small talk with people who recognize you) and then go out and do something exciting instead of a boring dinner date. Think roller coasters, theme parks, poetry nights, live concerts, games, seasonal “costume” attractions, or if you (and your date) are very adventurous, hiking or jet-skiing.

Just put on the celebrity mind set that says “I’m a big kid at heart and I want to have some fun tonight!” and you can’t go wrong. And if you’re really full of yourself, then give your date a “Best Supporting Actress” statuette. Just smile when you do it, so she’ll know you’re joking.

How to plan the perfect Beach Wedding

Planning a wedding is difficult enough and if you are planning to tie the knot outdoors on a beach, there are a few important things that you need to consider. Apart from organizing accommodation for everyone (if the beach you are getting married at is far from where you live), you also need to consider council regulations for the event. Here, we've got a list of tips to help make it easier and to help you check all the boxes for a seamless, beautiful beach wedding day.
  • Time of year-Of course, if you are getting married on a beach, you need to ensure you get married in the warmer months to help boost the chances of a sunny day. If however if does rain on the day of your wedding, you need to have a plan for either shelter on the beach such as a marque that can be easily set up, or an alternative nearby location for the ceremony. Leave nothing to chance.
  • Check with the council-Some councils actually require you to pay a fee and others may even ask you to book the area. This could be very important especially if you are getting married in an area where lots of people take their vows. Bookings in some beach locations is essential as is obtaining a permit from the local council.
  • Making sure you and your groom are comfortable-This is the biggest day of your life and the last thing you need is to trip over your dress on the sand. Make sure that you can move around in what you wear. A large, traditional gown doesn't suit a beach wedding and can also lead to disaster. Similarly for the groom, make sure that he has the correct style of suit. There's no point in wearing a wool suit in the middle of Summer, a cotton blend is best.
  • Making sure your guests are comfortable- Because you are getting married on the beach, make sure you keep the dress code cocktail or even more casual. This will ensure that people once again feel comfortable to walk on the sand and be apart of the ceremony.
  • Seating and access-If you have elderly or disabled guests, you may want to make sure that you have wheelchair access and a place specifically for them where they can be seated comfortably to see the ceremony. This may be as easy as providing a row of chairs at the front. Have a relative in charge of organizing this to ensure you don't have to worry about it on the day.
  • Accommodation: If there are many family and friends that will be staying somewhere near the beach, there are many hotels and different types of accommodation that offer discounted group rates so don't forget to inquire about this.
Beach weddings are wonderful. We are so lucky to be living in a country where the beaches are so beautiful, the perfect backdrop for a perfect day. I hope our tips for planning your beach wedding have been useful, and will assist you in making the arrangements for you wedding with minimal stress.

How To Find A Boyfriend Sooner Then Later

Being single isn't fun. If you're single and have been for a while, there's probably a reason for that. There is always the chance that you're single because you want to be, but considering you're currently reading a dating blog, I doubt that. You want a boyfriend, so why isn't one coming along? Well, the most common causes for lonelyville are:

~Being too shy to go out and meet someone
~Not meeting enough guys

The second point is the one we're going to look at today, as the other point is already covered considerably on this website. So without any further ado, let's get into it.

Meet As Many Guys As Possible
When it comes to getting a boyfriend sooner rather than later, there's one thing you need to do: You need to meet as many guys as possible! The thing is, not every guy you meet will be a good match for you. They may live to far for you to make it a proper relationship, or you may simply share different views on life. What ever the case is, it's really not going to work.

Now imagine you only met one guy a week. That's four chances a month to find a guy that's good for you, and if none of those is a match you've wasted a whole month! If however you met four guys a week, you're saving three weeks of you time. Met seven guys a week and you'll most likely find a man sooner then later!

Where Do You Meet These Guys?
Now I know what you're thinking, where are you supposed to meet seven guys a week? I'm sure your schedule's packed up from working or studying? Fear not ladies, where there's a will there's a way. My advice would be to meet guys via as many avenues as possible. You could go out a couple of times at the weekend, and in the week try your hand at online dating. Online dating is great as it allows you to meet and talk to guys from the comfort of you own home. It also allows you to meet a lot more guys then normal, so it's exactly what we're looking for.

When you go out on the weekend, make sure it's not always to the same old place. You want to go to a few different bars (Not necessarily on the same night) and various events. Comedy nights, live shows and festivals are all good places to meet someone. At the end of the day, the more you get out, the more chance you'll meet someone.

So if you're bored of being single and want to find a man asap, remember it's all about the numbers! Good luck.

How to know if you are a Clingy Girlfriend or Boyfriend?

Are you a clingy Girlfriend or Boyfriend…If you are stop right now! Being clingy is one of the major reasons why a girl or guy may get dumped and I am sure you would not want to be in that situation. Majority of men and women I know find clingy partners annoying. However, there were some exceptions too. A 72 year old rich man whom I have always seen in the company of a 20-30 year old woman admitted that a clingy partner gave him an ego boost. 2-3 other men I knew told that they have enjoyed the attention from such women at the initial stages of the relationship but later on they found it annoying. I even have a couple of friends who dumped their partners because of it. But the sad fact is that many men and woman are not even aware that they are being clingy. Are there any signs to know that one is clingy? How to identify if you are clingy? Here are some indicators that you may be so

If you have no life of your own and spend every bit of your free time with your Partner
You are always on the lookout for excuses to spend time with your Partner
If you are always on the Phone talking to him/her
Your day begin and end with your Partner
If you are always chatting with your Partner on the Internet
If you are insecure about your Partner/Relationship and wants to spend all your time around the love of your life because of the fear of getting dumped
You are unhappy and depressed the moment your day/date ends and your partner goes home

Clingy Men or Woman can be a huge turn off for their partner as majority of people want time alone or personal space. When a person is not able to have his/her own identity and is always been dominated by the partner it can be very annoying. So if you are constantly calling, whining, questioning or checking up on your Partner it’s time you stopped. Understand that your Boyfriend or Girlfriend has a life outside of yours too. If you are not allowing your partner enough time alone and personal space to be with their friends and family, indulging in hobbies etc, you would be chasing your partner away. This does not mean that you should ignore your loved one. Just make sure that you respect their boundaries and acknowledge them as an individual.

The Difference Between Being Funny and Being a Lonely Comedian

Guest Post by Lior
Hot girls all love funny guys, right? Well, that’s almost true. However, there’s a big difference between guys like Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill then there are for Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, isn’t there? There are two types of funny when you’re dating. There’s “he’s so funny” and “he’s a comedian” type of funny.

The bottom line is that the sexy guy usually gets laid before the funny guy does. The same lesson applies for women: who is usually perceived as hotter? Angelina Jolie or Amy Poehler? Cheri Oteri or Scarlett Johansson?

The funniest people in the room are not always the most successful ones in dating. Professional comedians for example are not just “funny.” They are performers and their humor is part of their job. Sometimes comedians are associated with a high-maintenance relationship. Sometimes high profile comedians are associated with riches and celebrity. Of course, without fame and fortune you’re just a funny guy. So here’s the secret to being funny and sexy.

Balancing Funny with Sexy

What does a person mean when he or she says that you’re “funny?” It’s not actually a critique of your comedic talent or writing ability. All funny means in dating is that (A) you are capable laughing, (B) you can laugh at yourself, (C) you enjoy laughing, and (D) you are not afraid to take a big chance and go for laughs.

What is truly “sexy” about humor is the fearlessness and the rush of adrenaline we feel when someone makes us laugh. It doesn’t really matter whether you’re Jim Carrey or Carrot Top. Your date is responding to your efforts at humor and your efforts to keep things fun and comfortable.

Your date is not really interested in hearing 60 minutes of stand up material. After a while, your date may actually become uncomfortable if you’re “on” for too long and she starts fake-laughing at all your pre-written jokes. The best funny guys (or girls) are the ones that go for the strategic laugh, followed by the comfort, the silence and the coy glance. There has to be an “off” switch at some point…unless of course your date just wants you to crack jokes while you’re having sex. (And that would be impressive)

Funny Turn Offs

Not all comedians are fun to be around; in fact, some have earned the reputation of being difficult, angry, and generally unpleasant be around. (We’re not given any names!) This lesson should teach you something about dating etiquette. It’s not polite to be “funny” when you are:

Insulting other people
Insulting your date
Putting yourself down
Joking about serious subject matter
“Dying”

Yes, your date will really dislike you if you start “dying” (or in showbiz talk, that means telling jokes that no one laughs at) right in front of them. That’s the problem with doing rehearsed material when you’re on a date. You’re trying to tell a joke without really getting your date’s sense of humor. Part of the process of being naturally funny is discovering what your date likes to laugh at. From that point, you can tailor your sense of humor to his/her preferences.

It’s also a risk to joke about anything too serious or to consistently put yourself down. If you keep insulting yourself for a laugh, eventually you will sell your “sucky-ness” to your date, and he/she won’t be so thrilled to have you.

Our advice is to use your sense of humor like a weapon. Show that you have it, use it whenever you sense that you can get an easy laugh, and then put it away when things get more “interesting.” Remember this—nobody ever falls in love with a funny “character.” They marry “the real you.” That’s what you really want to shine.
